Man Utd Set To sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic For a 2nd Time

The iconic player, who joined the Red Devils at the start of their 2016/17 campaign on a one-year contract, was a huge success at Old Trafford, ending the season as the club's top scorer with 28 goals in 46 appearances despite missing two months due to a knee injury.

In discussion with reporters at a press conference ahead of his side's Premier League opener against West Ham on Sunday, Mourinho lauded the 35-year old's influence and dedication, revealing that a comeback could be on the cards.

"He’s injured and he needs time to recover," Mourinho stated, referring to the cruciate ligament tear which had the player sidelined since the club's Europa League encounter with Anderlecht in April.

"He's not ready to play tomorrow, he’s not something urgent, he's not something you are desperate to have it done, or not done. I just think he was very clear by showing what he did last year was not enough for him," he continued.
"He thinks he can do more, he wants more at football’s highest level, so we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him staying with us for the second part of the season," the United boss added.

This revelation is consistent with the player's agent's comments in May that the Swede intends to stay in Europe and that he believes his career can still yield another year of football.
